Legal Basis
Pursuant to § 22c (7) of the Animal Welfare Act (TSchG), species-specific advisory boards may be established to assist the commission in fulfilling its tasks. These advisory boards may include representatives of the Austrian Chamber of Veterinarians (Österreichische Tierärztekammer), the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, the Association of Austrian Small Animal Veterinarians (Vereinigung Österreichischer Kleintiermediziner), the Austrian Federation of Knowledgeable Animal Keepers (Österreichischer Dachverband sachkundiger Tierhalter), the Austrian Breeders’ Associations (österreichische Zuchtverbände), and the Animal Protection Council (Tierschutzrat). Participation in these advisory boards is voluntary.
